Review of Indecent Proposal (1993) by Josh J — 15 Jan 2010

An acceptable late 90s trifle. It's not nearly as tawdry as it would like you to believe. In fact, it's distractingly tame. Anyone who takes the time to watch this movie is probably doing so based solely on the promise of indecency. However, what you'll get is a not-fully-realized portrait of a couple coming to terms with genuine adulthood. Not that being paid for sex is a sure sign of maturity, but a mature theme is most certainly is.

By the time the credits roll, I was mostly just wondering what I had missed. I knew I had seen something reasonably decent, but I couldn't shake the feeling that at least one rather important scene was missing.
