Review of Indecent Proposal (1993) by Originaldanger — 07 Jul 2020
Indecent Proposal is a 1993 film by Adrian Lyne.... I'm giving it an 8 only because Robert Redford's acting was top notch and Demi Moore's was okay. It's an okay film but not one I'd watch regularly but Oliver Platt's performance and Woody Harrelson's leave a nasty taste in your mouth.
Seriously Oliver Platt can't act at all and he wasn't even that great in Flatliners and Executive Decision and as far as Woody Harrelson goes I can't stand him as a person or an actor lol. There's some good moments in Indecent Proposal like Redford and Demi Moore on the boat and the lights go off and stuff and the pool or snooker game scene with conversation running over it and the betting scenes.
As the film drags on though so much of it feels empty and depressing and I'm not a huge fan of it but Robert Redford gave his best performance ever so I'm being generous and giving it an 8. Most of the acting is great but some of the characters seem utterly stupid but all in all an average film.
Not the best and not the worst. Only the high rating because Robert Redford's acting was spot on but no other reason.
