Review of Incredibles 2 (2018) by Robbyp — 17 Jun 2018
Funny and action-packed, this sequel is about on par with 2016's Finding Dory. By that, I mean it doesn't have near the impact of the first, but is still enjoyable in its own right. The characters are fun to be around and that's about where the impact ends.
The best parts of Incredibles 2 are when we get to see the family dynamic. That's always been the strength of the series, but here it's more apparent than in its predecessor. Elastigirl has definitely got some moments to shine on her own (the Elastibike scene comes to mind), but the story arc concerning the main baddie feels auxiliary and predictable.
Still, I was laughing and enjoying the spectacle along with everyone else in the theater. This one may not have the lasting impact of the first, but then again, it would have been a tall order for us to expect otherwise.
