Review of Incredibles 2 (2018) by Alissa914G — 17 Jun 2018
I have to admit that I enjoyed this one. The first one is still my favorite as it had better humor in it and of course, Jason Lee, who was excellent in it. Here, the standouts are Frozone, Void, and Jack Jack. The other characters were great too, but those three characters added something significant to the story. Frozone had a bigger role in this one not just as a friend but as someone who saved the kids and even got them to meet the rich guy in the movie.
While I didn't feel as excited as I did during the island scene in the first one, this one wasn't that bad. The first time I checked my watch to see how long I've been sitting there, it was at 1h15 and it didn't feel like it. Still, not a bad movie and a decent follow-up to it. Violet's side story just seemed unnecessary and could've been edited out, I guess. Dash was OK but he was good when he got control of the car.
It's probably the best Pixar movie I've seen in many years since they started their decline with Toy Story 3 (which you have to admit that the writing wasn't that good in that one.... the "Lincoln Logs" joke was obviously painful).
