If it were not for Werner Herzog having anything to do with this movie, I would have never watched it.

What starts out as a somewhat insider look at the back end of how movies are made, including all the lunacy one would expect from Hollywood flakes, and showing the true idiocy is funny when presented to audiences. It needs no embellishing. This movie starts that way... but halfway through, it takes a turn to the ludicrous side. It was not necessary to go so far to the exaggerated side to make this film funny.

I had more chuckles in the first 45 minutes of the film and none in the last 60. Much like the premise Zak Penn presents of a directors movie being hihacked and undermined by a sleazy producer, this film looks like it was hijacked from Penn and ruined in the end.

Without Werner, this would have been a 2 out of 10 in my book. I had such high hopes for this too. So sad.
