Review of Inception (2010) by Shane B — 10 Jan 2015
Nolan follows up his gripping "The Dark Knight" with a movie that takes it to the next level. Here we have an action movie that challenges us and keeps us interested in what is going on. Despite the many jokes that this movie gets about being "incomprehensible," the movie is able to construct and bring everything together without having information overload or falling apart.
There are fantastic performances by Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Tom Hardy, with the other actors doing a fantastic job as well. The action is exciting and well shot, the story is engaging and has you invested from the very beginning to the very end, and the visual effects are just outstanding.
This is a true work of art that takes you along for the ride for 148 minutes and leaves you satisfied with the end product. One of my favorite films of both the year and of all time, and my personal favorite Christopher Nolan movie.
