Review of Incendies (2010) by Mark S — 29 Jan 2014
Fiction so powerful because it is given its emotion by fact. It plays like a modern Greek tragedy, tragedy being very much present throughout the sections set in the Middle-East. In the end it is just a little too much like a play (indeed it was adapted from one) to pack quite the same punch as a true story, but it's still an arresting, well-made drama.
