Review of Incendiary (2008) by Craig S — 01 Nov 2008

Its hard to explain the narrative of this film without giving too much away but lets just say it deals with a very delicate subject matter and this film being approached in that indie style of filmmaking is probably the best way to do it.

However, it does have a lot of flaws. I havn't seen a lot of michelle williams in the past. She was very good in brokeback mountain but other than that I can only associate her with dawsons creek (which is rubbish).

So she plays the east end mother very well in this film but all the way through her performance I just couldn't help thinking that she's trying too hard and she's just doing this to get some end of the year award.

As for the supporting cast, we have som very bland performances particulary from mcgregor and macfadyen who are just both really creepy and I don't think the story's intentions were to do so. In the end the film is just a miserable experience in the cinema and we all have to sit through 90 minutes of michelle williams's agony.

Not a good experience.
