Review of Incendiary (2008) by Gary C — 20 Jun 2009
I loved this movie. Michelle Williams is perfect as a woman who is going through all the tons of different stages of grief. She perfectly floats from guilt-ridden to spiteful and wanting to die, onto borderline insanity and finally acceptance and a willingness to forgive herself and attempt to piece her life back together from what's left.
Ewan McGregor is really pretty good, even though he's not in as much as you'd think he would be. Really, he looks up at windows a lot. I'm pretty sure there are like fifteen shots of him sitting on a bench, or wandering around in a park, and in all of them, he's looking up at a window.
It's a pretty heavy movie to watch, but it doesn't leave you feeling like garbage when it's over, so it gets mad points for that. Seriously, though, it's an excellent flick. You should see it.
