"In Time" is really an oxymoron: it's both awesome and awful at the same time. Incredible action sequences, sleek editing, and some of the most dazzling camerawork I've seen in a long time are coupled with gaping plot holes and characters that lack necessary chemistry (Justin does prove he can act, but still shows he's got a ways to go). "In Time" fails to capitalize on its extremely intriguing concept, instead divulging into cornball nonsense in which the plot continually hits it's viewer over the head. It's an overtly sermon-y film, making no effort to disguise its efforts to preach towards a cultural issue. But a Justin Timberlake-starring scifi-chase film is not well-suited to this, and the narrative suffers for it. It's extremely well-made, but "In Time" is another unfortunate occurrence of great film-making and brilliant ideas being combined with lousy execution (and there's also the fact that it seems to promote theft as long as the victim has more than you, but oh well).

7/10.
