Review of In the Valley of Elah (2007) by M S — 07 Jan 2013
A powerful and chilling indictment of the de-humanizing effect of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan on the soldiers who fought there, and the failure of the army to help them re-adjust with adequate mental treatment when they come back, if such help is even possible after the horror of what they are expected to do.
This is one of the most tragic movies I have ever seen, along with All Quiet on the Western Front.
