Review of In the Valley of Elah (2007) by Brandy C — 01 Feb 2009
I thought this was OK, but the ending is a little disappointing.
Tommy Lee Jones is excellent in this as an ex-military cop investigating a seeming cover-up of the brutal murder of his soldier son - and discovering some unpleasant facts about his blue-eyed boy along the way.
There are some big-name actors and actresses in this movie, all overshadowed by Jones' performance, or just underused - for example Josh Brolin (who outshone Jones in No Country For Old Men) as the police chief - only about two scenes - is he a friend of the director, or does he just have a very good agent??!!
