Review of In the Valley of Elah (2007) by Inuk J — 11 Apr 2009
An important and relevant film, no doubt, dealing with emotional issues - just like Haggis other films. Great acting and some very moody scenes. It's alarmingly lifelike and shows us that war is not a very heroic thing and that it comes with great casualties - also for the victors. This is definitely a film that leaves its signature in your consciouses after watching it.
Maybe the last shot is a bit too much? I think the audience get the criticism of the US involvement in war and their (mis-) treatment of veterans without the last shot, right?
