Review of In the Valley of Elah (2007) by Bill B — 23 May 2009
Paul Haggis' follow up to Crash is thankfully not as heavy handed and obvious, (Christ on a bike, I hated Crash SO much), and Tommy Lee Jones gives a great performance as an ex-military father looking into the mysterious circumstances of his son's death after he returns from Iraq, only to go missing shortly thereafter.
An overall melancholy and measured film, it's very well shot and acted, well worth a look.
