Review of In the Valley of Elah (2007) by Nicholas L — 17 Feb 2012
No idea what the title has got to do with this film. On the other hand, there are worse titles in the film history.
The investigation of the missing person lacks fervour. The revelation fares much worse. The motive is weak and the ending is weaker.
The excitement comes from the acting. Many of Tommyâ(TM)s roles are quite identical. Suffering, moody, deep in thought, serious. But he is perfect here. Itâ(TM)s a highlight when he was told in details the way his son was murdered, his face was so ugly, distorted by pain from inside. No amount of acting can achieve that.
