Review of In the Tall Grass (2019) by Maddieh2106 — 19 Feb 2022
This movie was terrible. It was illogical and way too long. There were too many layers added on to the original plot of the people being stuck in the grass, and it became confusing, and outright ridiculous and confusing.
The plot line of the time loop, for example, made no sense and was very poorly, if at all, explained as the movie went on. Who are the random grass people that we see twice in the movie and are never explained? What does the rock do? This movie is beyond vague for ominous purposes: it is badly thought out, and perhaps the storyline was poorly written.
This movie may have been good as a 12 minute short film, and no longer. The viewer gets tired of seeing grass shot in only so many different ways, for nearly two straight hours. In addition, the gore feels out-of-place and over-the-top.
I highly recommend staying away from this one; I feel like I just wasted two hours of my life on a poorly executed, drawn-out, badly-acted, low-budget piece of trash.
