Review of In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale (2007) by Rob S — 29 Nov 2008
This movie can be summed up by some simple math. Add up Lord of the Rings, Gladiator, Knightâ??s Tale and 300 and subtract ANYTHING that was good. Now add in the cheesy costumes used for the villains in Power Rangers and you have "In the Name of the King.
". This movie had trouble figuring out if they wanted to go with a play-type style, a hybrid modern/midevil, or all out action and its evident in even the actors seeming confused in their dialog delivery.
The only two (semi) bright spots was the cinematography that was able to capture nice scenerary and coloring and Jason Statham who was what you expect, good acting and great action, except he didn't have many action scenes.
Ray Liotta played a great role as an evil Tom Jones. If you decide to watch this movie good luck trying to figure out why they had so many unnecessary characters plots and such bad editing.
