Review of In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale (2007) by Rikki L — 13 Dec 2008
What can you say about this movie? Its testament to the financial might of Microsoft, on whose game (Dungeon Siege) the movie is based. Statham is the 21st century Van Damme/Schwarzenegger/Stallone type and woodenly plays his standard role.
Ray Liotta was awful and looked more like a washed up rocker than a mage. for those who like the fantasy genre, it was entertaining viewing. I did find it frustrating (but am willing to forgive because it may be due to the constraints of the game itself) the Krugs who were clearly orcs, and the forest-women who were clearly elves without trying to be elves.
To be fair I believe they were being true to the game story but for crying out loud, if it looks like and elf and acts like an elf, its an elf!
