Review of In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale (2007) by Jared M — 26 Mar 2009
Corny, unimaginative tale. If you combined Lord of the Rings, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon,The Matrix, and Troy-- this is the movie you'd get. The whole thing felt like a cheap LOTR knock off. I couldn't believe how many scenes and themes were actually identical to Lord of the Rings! They are so similar it's silly (and Lord of the Rings was created first, by the way--both the books & the movies).
I can't believe how they got such a star-studded cast to be apart of this. Even though there are many well-known actors in this movie, the acting still majorly sucked. Actually, Jason Statham and John Rys Davies did a good job.
But everyone else, especially Ray Liotta, not so much. The script was pretty pitiful too.
