Review of In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale (2007) by Zeldagiygaslord 6 — 01 Apr 2012
I'll be honest - these times are few and far between, but occasionally, there are some genuinely beautiful visuals in this film (mostly in the first 5 minutes). But this movie's script and editing are so awful it makes my face hurt.
All of the scenes in this movie just sort of stop, rather than end, and then the film awkwardly cuts to another random scene. This movie jerks around so much that it makes The Last Airbender look smooth.
The camerawork is (mostly) atrocious. The music, in and of itself, is good, but it's usually too loud and over-dramatic. The acting is awful. The story is garbage. It looks like a TV movie. The main character is actually named "Farmer.
" It's boring. It's too long. There are ninjas for some reason. I could go on and on. The only good part of this film is Matthew Lillard's hilariously bad acting. The incompetence on display here is really quite astounding.
(And seriously, how did Uwe Boll get all these famous actors?!).
