Review of In the Name of the Father (1993) by Adam H — 08 Aug 2012
"In the Name of the Father" is a solidly-acted, technically sound docudrama, even though a number of facts have been manipulated for its storytelling purposes. Daniel Day-Lewis delivers a powerful lead performance, which shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, and Pete Postlethwaite shines in his supporting role.
Politically-charged films usually tend to bore me, so it's only a testament to the greatness of "In the Name of the Father" that I was so wide awake and utterly involved.
