Review of In the Mouth of Madness (1995) by Alex B — 09 Mar 2008
This movie is pretty fucking terrible. The only good thing it has to offer is a creepily twisted concept, and some interesting creatures and ideas. Unfortunately, the movie fails miserably because of 2 completely unlikable lead characters, it's level of non-threatening cheese (and usually I like cheese but this movie doesn't pull it off right), some poorly done make-up effects, high predictability and cliches, annoying "clues" and "signs" of things to come which actually mean nothing at all, and how when it's all over you feel like you've taken absolutely nothing from it.
I'm starting to think John Carpenter sucks...
