Review of In the Mouth of Madness (1995) by Cameron L — 03 Jun 2010
I loved watching Sam Neill stumble through John Carpenter's horror-filled town. His constant reassurances to himself that his reality is true and dogged determination to bring down what he thinks isn't is something that I identified with instantaneously.
And credit to Carpenter, I couldn't really guess whether Neill had gone insane or if the horrors were real leading into the final scene where I laughed right along with the movie. The creature effects were on par with Carpenter's The Thing and looked good.
It was a fun and occasionally effective horror film that's worth at least a rental.
