Review of In the Mouth of Madness (1995) by Joby D — 05 Dec 2012
It's always a shame to see a movie that has such promise in the first act turn out to be a mindless, incomprehensible exercise. Sam Neill did the best he could with the material but was clearly swallowed up by an uninspired script and equally uninspired editing.
Certain sequences, like the hotel manager's wife, are enough to give you chills, but the expertly crafted trailer sets up an expectation that could never be fulfilled by such weak material.
