Review of In the Loop (2009) by Mads D — 11 Aug 2010
A BBC Films production, 'In the Loop' is a relentlessly foul-mouthed political satire about an obscene process: the fabrication of a case to justify plans for a jointUS-British invasion of the Middle East.
Relying on hand-held cameras and a lightning-paced script, it plays like a big-screen version of 'The Office' - if, that is, the office happened to be on Downing Street. There is irony, there is withering sarcasm and there is fear that an off-handed comment to the press by a dim-witted government minister could fan the flames of war.
