Review of In the Loop (2009) by Will D — 05 Feb 2012
Absolutely hilarious black comedy that is also a very effective satire of the build-up to the Iraq War, as well as bureaucracies in general. It features a barrage of great lines and excellent comedic performances all around, especially Tom Hollander, who has a great bewildering presence about him. Some might be turned off by the lack of discussing real issues, and the often hurried style of the film, but ultimately it's about the politics of having an opinion (such as the implications on ones' career), rather than any particular opinion itself.
4/5 Stars.
