Review of In the Loop (2009) by Geoffrey T — 11 Apr 2012
This is a bizarre movie. It's boundless in its cynicism. Its pace is rapid, and sometimes rushed, which is probably because it was originally 4 1/2 hours cut down to roughly 2. It's hilarious, but it's also very serious.
I don't really know how to describe it any better. It captures what I project happens behind the doors of any political organization except with greater wit. At the core of this movie, what happens in it is truly shameful, which tints all of the humor with an extra blackness.
But it's really a masterful piece of satire and filmmaking.
