Review of In the Loop (2009) by Peter B — 22 Mar 2012
This is one of the most vulgar, repulsive, and crass films I've ever seen in my life.....but something about it is just so comical and genius that it might be one of the most phenomenal realistic comedies ever produced.
From Malcolm Tucker's profane tirades to the humorous "War Committee" scene, In The Loop satirizes every little bit about the build up to war in the Middle East so perfectly. There were times I found myself laughing hysterically, but at the same time, amazed at how funny politics really can get.
The dialogue is phenomenal (nominated for screenplay at Academy Awards). If a movie can amaze an audience with the most insignificant line, you know you've got something special.
