A gripping suspenseful thriller that showcases Clint Eastwood in one of his finest performances as a veteran Secret Service Agent Frank Horrigan, who is still haunted by his failure to protect President John F.

Kennedy from assassination; now some thirty years later the current president is threaten by a cunning, brilliant psychopath named Mitch Leary, a former assassin for the U.S. government who wants to murder him, he is brilliantly played by John Malkovich in a chilling Oscar nominated performance; Leary also wants to play a deadly game of cat-and-mouse with Horrigan, he dives into the depths of malevolence by pushing the buttons of Horrigan's vulnerable side by taunting him by phone, in conversations that are ere and captivating, tantalizing him with clues.

The assassin lures Horrigan into a electrifying battle of wits, but Horrigan is so determined to redeem himself and protect the current president that he will stop at nothing to nail Leary. Eastwood throws himself completely into the role of the guilt-ridden loner with a forceful conviction.

Masterfully directed by Wolfgang Petersen with exceptional supporting performances by Rene Russo, Dylan McDermott, Gary Cole, Fred Dalton Thompson, John Mahoney and John Heard. An intelligent, intensely captivating thriller that delivers on all levels.

Highly Recommended.
