Review of In the Land of Women (2007) by Grant W — 12 Jun 2008
There's something very unconventional about the writing in this film, that differentiates it from the usual crap, that this could have all too easily been. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but certainly the casual, unforced acting style of Adam Brody is a contributing factor.
Could have done without some of the 'feel good scenes' like the final one at the diner (ugh...) but somehow this film overcomes the many hurdles it, by all accounts, seems like it SHOULD have to get over.
