Review of In the Land of Women (2007) by Karlyn C — 15 Apr 2009
For some reason I wasnt feeling this movie. Now dont get the impersion that this is a bad movie, far from it. Maybe I just wasnt in the right mood to see this film. I mean I like most of the actors in this movie. I love Adam Brody who plays Seth in the show the O.C.,he just has this likeabilty about him. Then theres the classic Meg Rya, how could you not love her right? Oh and theres my new favorite actress Kristen Stewart. Ok maybe not my favorite but she up there, and boy does she look hot as a blonde in this movie lol! Anway the plot of this movie is about a young man played by Adam Brody who gets dumped by his girlfriend(we've all been there right). So he stays with his Grandma in Michigan. While he visits he meets the woman that live next to his Grandma and becomes atached to them. He changes his life as well as thiers.
I felt that I should have loved this movie. I mean I really wanted to so freaking bad! But I dont know maybe the movie was just too over the place for me. Not only that but the movie was really depressing. Like I said maybe I just wasnt in the mood for this kinda movie. Theres nothong to hate about this movie. The characters are interesting, the writting is good, but not great. Its about what you would expect from this type of movie, I just wasnt blown away by it.
Carter Webb: I pride myself on being this great listener, but whenever I meet somebody new I find I'm doing all the talking.
Sarah Hardwicke: Maybe you're not really such a great listener.
Carter Webb: Hmm?
Sarah Hardwicke: Maybe you're not such a great listener.
Carter Webb: No that's not it, I'm a great listener.
