Review of In the Land of Blood and Honey (2011) by Ray H — 06 Feb 2012
There wasn't much I knew about the movie specifically, because I try not to know much about movies I want to see before I do... Obviously, I knew of the atrocities - but I knew very little about the movie itself... except when my husband looked up the time for me on his "Showtimes" app... it was only rated 1.5 stars - obviously by some brainless idiot/s who was/were agitated they didn't get to "see" Angelina Jolie... But you DID see her - her vision was well executed in its storyline and its direction (both her). And you saw something she cares so deeply about that she also produced it... probably funded most of it herself.
But how well done it is shouldn't be any surprise, for Angelina understands her visual medium beyond merely acting... the only surprise is how disgusting human beings can be toward one another.
