Review of In the Land of Blood and Honey (2011) by Sean C — 07 Sep 2012
I could deal with the fact that the movie is heavy-handed and emotionally inept if the central love story actually resonated for even a moment or if the movie actually had the courage to explore its most unsettling issues on anything but the shallowest level.
I love Angelina Jolie for trying to shed some light on this issue; I just wish that she had used a bigger flashlight. No one could question her enthusiasm, but one definitely has to question her directorial abilities to handle such a controversial and intricate subject as the war in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
