Review of In the House (2012) by Eric G — 15 Apr 2013
In the House is a dark and unassuming carefully written comedy... after all it's (partly) about the creative writing process. I realised mid film how clever the film was, the humour making it easier to accept the uncomfortable feeling that I was increasingly becoming an involuntary (or voluntary?) voyeur in the process.
Just like the main character. The film introduces multiple themes about writing, education, art, morality, relationships, friendship. Kristin Scott Thomas and Fabrice Luchini are an unlikely couple but give very good performances.
