Review of In the Heat of the Night (1967) by Tim C — 02 Aug 2007
What do you get when you mix 60s politics with a thrilling crime drama? You get this movie. Sydney Poitier plays an African-American detective who helps a racist cop, played by Rod Steiger, solve a murder that takes place in Poitier's mother's hometown.
It is thrilling, not to mention gorundbreaking. My favorite scene is when Sydney Poitier slaps a wealthy white man with an Uncle Tom statue in the front yard when the wealthy white guy slaps him first.
If you saw and liked Crash, here is it's predecessor.
