Review of In the Heat of the Night (1967) by Bum D — 13 Sep 2007
One of the Greatest films to come out of the 60's Sidney Poitier is bang on form "They Call Me Mr Tibbs" a memorable line from the movie which stays long after the last reel, Rod Steiger who was a great civil rights activist when not acting gave a truly remarkable performance as the bigoted sherif, who finally came to see Virgil for what he was, a fellow human being trying to do his job to the best of his ability, movie is very atmospheric and really evokes a real southern feel, Ray Charles theme tune is wonderful and keeps soulful too.
A Classic.
