Review of In the Heat of the Night (1967) by André D — 09 Nov 2009

I really like this film and also enjoyed the book. It is a story of a black man named Virgil Tibbs who is brought in for questioning of a murder he did not commit. It is later discovered he is a homicide detective himself just passing through.Then he is asked if he can help the bigot of a sheriff and police force...solve the murder! I really love Tibbs' Witt with the sheriff and locals of the small town. There is so much Racial Tension in this film it is not fit. However, they seem to out that behind them to complete the task at hand....solving the murder.

Lots of excitement int his film and a few laughs as well as a great deal of suspense building up to the twist of an ending.....This si one of the few films that are actually as good as the book.
