Review of In the Heat of the Night (1967) by Brad G — 30 Jan 2010
A fine thriller, too often written off as a dated "message of tolerance" film like GUESS WHO'S COMING TO DINNER. Poitier and Steiger are both excellent, and their interplay makes the film.
The story itself is a little iffy, as it's a character piece more than a true mystery, but it holds up better than it's given credit for.
