Review of In the Heat of the Night (1967) by Melanie P — 13 Nov 2011
I'm not sure anyone besides Sidney Poitier could pull this film off. Somehow they made the story plausible, even though there is no way in hell it would have come off like that. Not many relationship movies that have enough action and intrigue to keep them interesting.
Unfortunately, the fact that the movie is so good and the two main characters so interesting makes it even more annoying that the rest of the characters are so bad. And is it really so difficult to make a movie that has women in it who are actually full fledged human beings?
