Review of In the Heat of the Night (1967) by Alison C — 21 Sep 2011
Though its not my cup of tea its a pretty darn good film. Very well acted. Some cool shots. My favorite scene is the chase on the bridge because of the exceptionally amazing use of music. But my favorite part is when the chief brings Officer Woods back into his office to tell him that Virgil Tibbs, who he just arrested is a cop! The chief shows him Virgil's bad and yells "Yeah! OH YEAH!" and its just hilarious.
You'd have to see it. Rod Steiger is so great in this. I get the social/political/cultural significance. Its more so a movie about racial tensions and learning mutual respect than a murder mystery.
That's more or less a catalyst. Glad I saw it though.
