In the Heat of the Night is definately an interesting film in its own right, boasted by a fine performance by Sidney Poitier and an funny one by Rob Steiger. Quite a bit of racism and some very rude terms used within the film.
I found it interesting how Scott Wilson played a suspect who actually was not the killer where as in the another film in 1967, In Cold Blood, he plays a criminal. Quite an opposite role for him. I thought the film however had a bit of slow pace.
Other than that, I thought it was a very neat film.
