Review of In the Heat of the Night (1967) by Abdul-Aziz A — 08 Oct 2008
Not that good of a mystery, but tension between Poitier and the town is what makes this movie excel. Steiger is gutwrenchingly excellent as a repressed, lonely police chief who aids Poitier. Supporting characters help carry the movie also, shedding a light on racism in the south during this era.
