Review of In the Heart of the Sea (2015) by Matt F — 16 Dec 2015
I was super pumped to see In The Heart Of The Sea back when it was supposed to come out earlier this year in March I guess they moved the movie to December because they thought it was gonna be an Oscar contender, I can tell you this it is not a front runner (sadly) for the Oscars.
Don't fall for the trailers about this movie being action packed it really isn't but this movie is a slow burn movie with lots of talking but it's good dialogue that keeps you entertained.
This isn't the Moby Dick storyline so you don't be expecting some huge battle scene and scenes between the whalers and the whale, this is the story that inspired it. I did enjoy this movie, especially from seeing how great the whale looked.
Chris Hemsworth's accent is horrible not is acting but his American accent. I wouldn't recommend this movie but I kind of want to just because of how cool the whale is in this movie and how beautiful everything looks but the movie is not for everyone.
It's talking about 90 percent of the time. This is not Ron Howard's best movie or even his worse, I guarantee if this came out in March it would be making more money and better reviews but the fact they moved this down for "Oscar Reasons" was a dumb idea.
