Review of In the Heart of the Sea (2015) by David H — 09 Apr 2016
What a hard movie to watch: the director and/or DP seemed more interested in technique and less in actually capturing the action. The camera was often far too close or positioned in a way that made things difficult to follow or comprehend.
The music choices and direction seemed inconsistent for what was happening to the characters, too. It felt far too cartoonish for what it was seemingly attempting to depict. This feels to me as if it were a high-budget made-for-TV film.
