Review of In the Family (2011) by Ruth S — 16 Jun 2012
Once in a while a film that is honest, objective, fair and loving comes to town. In the Family is such a film. it leaves you feeling hopeful and compassionate and kind. Wanting what's best for a child and understanding the struggle to get to that decision.
I hope Patrick Wang never has to choose between being a writer, a director or an actor, he is brilliant at all of them. Yes it was a long film but that's why it was possible to understand and get to know each character and their situation.
I didn't want it to end!
