Review of In the Electric Mist (2009) by Leah H — 02 Apr 2009
Nice surprise at the sneak, again...gosh, am I blessed or what?
Not a typical movie....rather something extraordinary. Tommy lee jones plays a cop ( again), but his thime, he has to speak the language of Louisiana...that thick unmistakeble dialect.
The story is not strong and not thrilling and if you expect an adventurous thriller...stay away. The movies grandeur lies in his characters and in the creating of a strange but highly entertaining atmosphaire. The bayou, the music, the stoical calmness of the people, and the uplifting and comical behaviour of the movie stars ( the ones that are making a movie in the movie) make it enjoyable. I even think that one of the gag-giving roles as a too much overrated part, as he does not contribute to the solving of the crome. This movie has a few realy cool scenes and dialogues, but still, it is not very emotional.
In the electric mist is a film policier, very traditional, withouth much action, and very noir too...and I dont think it was too long, as a few of the people said. It asn atmospheric film, not an action movie, mind that.
