Review of In the Electric Mist (2009) by Liz W — 20 Mar 2009
This is one of those movies that, for me, illustrates the difference between enjoying Watching a movie as opposed to enjoying the story. I did not like this movie very much at all, however I enjoyed watching it.
The sweltering oppressive heat of the bayou was communicated very well and was as much a character as any of the headliners.
The one acting bright spot was the portrayal of General John Bell Hood played by the talented musician turned actor Levon Helm (The Band) (Trivia Note: Elton John's song Levon is named after him). His haunting voice carried his words like a soft sad melody.
With a relatively painless runtime of 1h32m, and the fact it was a freebie rental @ Redbox, I think it's worth a watch.
