Review of In the Electric Mist (2009) by Charles S — 21 Jun 2009
As this is available in the US only on dvd, and not in the director's cut, I was lucky to see it in Europe, in the long, Tavernier version -- his compromise with the American producers (apparently, we yanks cannot deal with length, plot development and voice-over reflections by the main character).
Although a bit long, the film does a creditable job of bringing the James Lee Burke novel to life. Levon Helm as the soldier is a real treasure (as he was in The Shooter).
