Review of In the Cut (2003) by Ingrid K — 15 Jul 2008
This movie took a conventional serial killer who dunnit plot, and turned it into something fantastic through the exploration of deeply flawed characters, fantastic cinematography, and a layered soundscape that at all points in time sets the tone in the most appropriate way.
I was wonderfully surprised to discover that Meg Ryan can act in things other than romantic comedies and hollywood action flicks. This film effected me deeply on a psychological level, which I take as the mark of a good movie.
