Review of In the Cut (2003) by John C — 15 Apr 2004
In the Cut is a feeble attempt at a sexy thriller staring Meg Ryan and Mark Ruffallo. This film has very little substance and the plot is completely lame. It seems that the writer and director tried to cover up for the weak plot by filling the film with tons of sex and nudity.
Both Ryan and Ruffallo appear fully naked which wouldn't be a bad thing if it actually added in any way to the plot. Sometimes it appears like filmmakers think that they can make up for weak plots by loading films up with sex.
Maybe stupid people buy into that. I don't.
